Follow the Money

23-Aug-2012 [5710]

• PFR is rumored to be reducing Ward 18 parks and skating budgets to increase its administrative budget. Sound familiar?

"Follow the money" is a term that was popularized by the character "Deep Throat" in All the President's Men (1976) (the story of the Watergate scandal that led to the impeachment and ultimate resignation of U.S. President Richard Nixon). So often true.

So here's a thought: the PFR Recreation department is rumored to be reducing Ward 18 Parks and Recreation budgets to re-allocate money to administrative functions. Is that what this is all about? A money grab? Fewer services for more administration?

Sadly, it makes some sense. The inefficiencies caused by their functional model costs money, and it has to come from somewhere.
